Save money and resources with our printing duplexing process.
Printing duplexing paper is attaching together two pieces of sheets together using an adhesive to create a thicker sheet. For example, when two pieces of 100lb sheets are glued together the duplexing effect creates a thicker, better quality 200lb paper stock. One of the reason this is done is to avoid an impression show through on the other side. So, you can use heavy impressions on both sides of the sheet without it having to show through. The glue that we use is strong and of high quality to ensure that the sheets never fall apart.

Depending on the size of your company and the number of employees, office supplies can be quite costly. Depending on your printer type, brand name printer ink might cost hundreds of dollars on its own. Not to mention the fact that the price of a ream of paper has been steadily rising. With a 5% price increase in the last year alone due to rising pulp costs, the closure of large paper factories, and international trade agreements playing a big role.
Printing on both sides of the paper is referred to as duplex printing, sometimes known as double-sided printing. If your printer supports duplex printing, this can be done automatically, or manually if you choose to turn the pages and print both sides.
What is the significance of this? Not only is it better for the environment to use fewer trees, but duplex printing also saves costs in half.
When it comes to preserving a greener environment and saving on printer ink, everyone from small enterprises to government bodies is doing their part. For the past 15 years, all unclassified US Navy printers have been set to duplex mode within the default settings, according to the Department of the Navy’s Chief Information Officer. While the projected cost of saving is less than a penny per page, this results in the saving of approximately 500,000 trees in a single year.
If your printer has two-sided printing capabilities, a printer duplexer is normally a removable piece of hardware that comes with the printer or can be purchased as an add-on item. Many duplexers require printer drivers in addition to the hardware. Printer drivers are software programs that enable your duplexer to communicate with your computer’s operating system.
Duplex printing can be accomplished using one of two approaches, depending on whether your duplexer has one or two print engines. Each page of your print job prints on one side first, then flips over and prints on the other side with a single-engine duplexer.
A duplexer with two engines prints both sides of the media at the same time. Using the data collected from your PC, a conductor belt generates a picture of both sides of the print job. The page picture is then sent to one of two transfuser belts, which combine and apply toner as pieces of paper pass through the printer.
Simply said, auto duplex printing implies that your printer can print on both sides of your paper automatically. This functionality is available on many contemporary printers. However, some older versions require you to physically flip the pages to print on both sides.
